What the hell happened to Nicolas Cage? Many of you may agree or disagree with the image to your left. I loved him in Con Air and he was a 100% bad ass movie star. Where is the guy from such classic films as Raising Arizona, Peggy Sue Got Married, The Rock, Face Off and Con Air? Now he is acting in shitty films like Drive Angry 3D, Season of the Witch and Ghost Rider? What the hell Nic? Is this guy just taking a pay check cause he can and not caring about the legacy he is leaving behind? This week a couple of trailers were released with him as the star and one looks ok while the other looks like crap. Take a look below.
Eh, ok. A movie with Nicole Kidman and Cam Gigandet looks ok. I get the overwhelming feeling that I have seen this film before ala The Last House on the Left. Not too interested.
Really? Really? Pissing fire? Maybe I am in a bad mood and I know I am just a lowly web writer with no credit for anything other than this website but from the first second having to listen to those directors to the very last shot of Ghost Rider pissing makes me wanna take a piss on this film. I could write on forever about every frame of this trailer but I am going to stop while I can.

Underworld Awakening Trailer!
The 4th film in the series and sequel, not a prequel, with Kate Beckinsale returning once again. It looks pretty cool and like it's predecessors but they were all pretty good in themselves. The film will be released in 3D in January.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Review!
Rise of the Planet of the Apes follows the desperate beginning of an extraordinary animal and the realization of his destiny, The Rise of the Planet of the apes, directed by Rupert Wyatt, is a film well worth your attention.
Caesar had never been your ordinary chimpanzee, even by a long shot. He was raised from infancy in the home of Will Rodman (James Franco), a seemingly average American citizen, who quitted his work to live alone and take care of his sickly father (John Lithgow), who had long since been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Caesar (Andy Serkis) marked a time of change in Will’s life, and came as something of a blessing, being a positive distraction from all that he was leaving behind. The small creature also served as a companion of sorts to will’s father, whose condition was quickly progressing, and worsening on a day-to-day basis.
Within only a few short years, Caesar’s intelligence was exceptionally advanced for a tamed creature of his species. He was clever, intuitive, and even expressed a sense of distinguished emotion. Will had taught Caesar sign language, and it was clear from his communication that he did not really comprehend the difference between himself and Will, or that there even was a significant difference between them, for that matter. As Caesar ages, and his intelligence peaks, he begins to recognize and refute the role he is required to play in a world of “intellectually superior” creatures. There is a fine line that distinguishes the homosapien and the inhuman. What would the outcome be if man decided to ignore the boundaries nature had carefully spun to separate the two?
While the charismatic James Franco is certainly a favorite actor of mine, admittedly I felt that his performance as Will Rodman, the “father” of Caesar, was satisfying, but not necessarily exemplary. It may be debatable to say that he was the main character, but supposing that is the case, he certainly had no problem sharing the limelight with the incredible Andy Serkis, who I believe to be the real star of the film. Keeping in mind that Caesar’s appearance is completely computer animated, I must express my amazement and interest regarding his awfully realistic facial expressions. In one scene, Caesar is curiously gazing at some unknown object he wishes to understand, and in another animosity and hate masks his face, distorting those almost human eyes to something beast-like and terrifying. You, as the audience could feel his pain and his hurt; sometimes you took pity on Caesar, and sometimes you were sitting still, almost afraid.
The rise of the Planet of the apes, all in all, was a film well worth your time and money. Since it depicts the origin of the Planet of the Apes story, an audience unfamiliar to the story can sit down and enjoy the movie as well as anyone else. For obvious reasons, those of you who are fans of the other Planet of the Apes films have probably already listed this film as a must-see. However, even for those who are not fans or who aren’t familiar with the story, this film still offers an interesting and enjoyable movie experience. I give it 4 out of 4 pizzas.

Birthday Weekend: New Ghostbusters Toys!
Here are some closer looks at some of the new Ghostbusters toys that came into my possession this weekend. First off is a new Ghostbusters Zapper Light Gun. The gun originally displayed images of random The Real Ghostbusters ghost images on your wall. I purchased one earlier in the year but was missing a film cartridge with images to light on the wall. So happens I was at one of my fave toy shops in Portland, Billy Galaxy, and they had another zapper with 2 cartridges! How cool! Now I have a pair with all of the parts. Next is a vintage Ghostbusters VW car that transforms into a bug ghost. My wife purchased a Slimer piggy bank made by Diamond Select toys. My brother Dave found some very cool vintage The Real Ghostbusters figurines. From left to right is Peter, Egon and Ray. For those that do not know, The Real Ghosbusters is the cartoon that was on in the 1980's early 1990's and most if not all of the older toys are from that show.

Birthday Weekend: New TMNT Toys!
Another entry into the famous "Birthday Weekend" log! You can see from below the new and cool Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys I was able to pick up while in Portland and also receive at my birthday party. The turtle submarine was a cool find from Billy Galaxy in Portland. I had been eyeing it off and on the past few visits and decided I needed it bad enough for my collection. I believe it is pretty rare and even more rare being a complete piece. Next is the TMNT Soap Dish. The van as you can see is actually a plastic dish that holds the mini bars of soap. A very rare find from my brother Rusty and a great addition to my collection. The TMNT Double Barrel Plunger Gun is another find from Billy Galaxy. Another great and complete piece. Last is a more current version of Raphael on a skateboard. I am really not sure if he originally went with the skateboard and is a more current piece dating in the 2000's somewhere. Still very cool!

Birthday Weekend: TMNT Drawing!
This past Thursday was my birthday and it ended up being a birthday weekend with a party on Saturday night and then another party with Summerslam on Sunday night. Needless to say it was awesome and I will be posting my cool gifts and new finds from my trip to Portland on Friday. I wanted to share a drawing my oldest daughter, Krystal, made for me. It is a montage of different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle characters that I have. She drew me John Cena which you can check out here and also check out her site. She is an amazing artist and I am so proud she is my daughter!

Summerslam Upset! New Champ! Nash interferes!
Last week we learned that tonight on Raw Rey Mysterio will have a match against the current WWE Champion. And that champion is.....Alberto Del Rio. WTF?! Alberto Del Rio? As you can see from the montage of photos above Del Rio cashed in his "Money in the Bank" briefcase and took the title from CM Punk. Let's rewind a minute here. Triple H was the referee and it came down to a 3 count with Punk pinning John Cena winning the title but Cena's leg was on the rope and everyone knows that you can not be pinned with your leg on the rope. He was still counted out and the match was over. CM began to celebrate when out of nowhere Kevin Nash AKA Diesel appeared in the ring and obliterated Punk allowing Del Rio to come in and pin him winning the championship. I'm not sure what to think about this? I don't know why John Cena didn't put up more of a fight after losing instead of walking out. Why was the match not forced to move on? Where did Nash come from and who is he working for? Online rumors state that he is Del Rio's new body guard. Let's hope not. I am thinking he has some tie to Triple H and took care of Punk for all of the things he said about Triple H's wife Stephanie Mcmahon. It will be an interesting night for sure and make sure to tune in at 9:00pm on the USA Network!
